Notes
About. micro1 collects robotics training data to order: first-person and third-person video of people doing household chores and skilled trade work, recorded on head-mounted phones by paid, AI-interviewed contractors, plus multi-camera and IMU capture and a robotics deployment lab. It also annotates and QCs the footage. Sales only: no prices, turnaround or buyer licence terms are published.
Price. No buyer pricing is published; the robotics page has only a 'Get in touch' form. For scale only: contributors are paid per approved hour of recorded video (at-home recorder postings list $13-15/hour; a plumber posting lists $20-30/hour). That is labour cost, not a price.
Coverage. The everyday-tasks page says 'Open to everyone, globally'. MIT Technology Review (Apr 2026) reports thousands of contract workers in more than 50 countries, including India, Nigeria and Argentina. Some current at-home postings are limited to listed US states and US work eligibility. micro1 publishes no list of countries where it will collect for a buyer.
Timing. No turnaround is published. The robotics page offers only 'Get in touch'; contributor pages say recordings are made 'on your own schedule'.
Licence. No buyer-facing terms for robotics data are published; the Legal Center lists website, cookie, candidate and referral terms, and a 'Contractor Terms' heading with no document. The Data License Master Terms (undated on the page; binding only on an executed Order Form) govern data licensed TO micro1 by partner companies: they grant micro1 a perpetual, multi-tier sublicensable licence including AI training, and bar reselling that data as a standalone product. They do not cover data micro1 collects for a buyer. Contributor consent: per MIT Technology Review, workers know their footage trains robots but are not told which clients receive it.
