Compiled from public sources, unclaimed. What they mean

Each link
  1. 1. Real personClaimed

Person · Claimed. Workers must be 18+, give truthful personal data and hold one account each (no alter egos); clickworker may require evidence that the data is correct before activating an account. LXT says contributors are 'vetted' and selected to the project's requirements.

Still open: Whether an identity document is checked for every worker is not stated; the terms only reserve the right to ask for evidence.

  2. 2. Captured locallyNot stated

    Camera · Not stated

Still open: Camera type can be included as metadata, but no check against imported, screen-captured or generated media is described.

Place · Claimed. In the store-check case study, workers photograph the store front 'with geo data' and upload shelf pictures 'with geo position, the business address and the store name'.

Still open: How the geo position is captured and whether it is checked against the store is not described; geolocation is not mentioned for dataset collection.

Needs both: the weaker one counts.

  3. 3. Genuine deviceNot stated

App · Not stated. On-site work uses the clickworker app for Android and iOS.

Still open: No check that the app or device is genuine or unmodified is documented.

  4. 4. Sealed captureNot stated

    Camera · Not stated

Still open: Camera type can be included as metadata, but no check against imported, screen-captured or generated media is described.

Content · Claimed. LXT: multi-layer QA with programmatic checks, gold tasks, peer review, human review and compliance validation. Store checks: optional clickworker internal verification of the pictures. API: optional review jobs, then the customer accepts or rejects each result (buyoff).

Still open: Review criteria and error rates are not published.

Counts only with a stated signing mechanism (C2PA, a manifest).

  5. 5. Known timestampNot stated

    Time · Not stated

Still open: A timestamp 'can be included' as metadata; how it is set and whether it can be trusted is not documented.

  6. 6. Tracked in transitNot stated

Custody record (optional field) · Not stated

  7. 7. Independently verifiedClaimed

Cross-check · Claimed. Peer review of submissions by other contributors; on the API, a separate content-review job can precede the customer's buyoff.

Still open: Whether peer review applies to every capture project and what it checks is not described. Reviewers share the platform and operator, so this is not independent confirmation.

  8. 8. Delivered to youNot stated

Delivery receipt (optional field) · Not stated

Notes

About. AI data company LXT, which agreed to buy the German crowd platform clickworker in December 2024 and now issues clickworker's North American terms. Its crowd photographs and films to a brief: custom image and video datasets (people, pets, products, scenes, documents) shot at home, at a nearby location with the clickworker smartphone app, or in a studio; and store checks, where workers visit listed shops, photograph shelves and displays with geo data and fill in checklists. Projects are run by LXT's managed service. The clickworker Marketplace API v2 (HTTP Basic auth, access through support) can create tasks, track them, fetch results and accept or reject them; its standard products are surveys, sentiment and iFrame tasks, and photo work is set up as a custom product.

Price. from_usd 0 means unknown, not free. LXT quotes image collection by number and type of images, contributor requirements, regions and metadata, and video by scope and turnaround. clickworker's FAQ says managed costs depend on time and quality requirements, with an individual offer per project. Through the API you set the worker payment per task in cents (e.g. external_form_payment); clickworker adds a basic payment surcharge (rate not published) and typically a 40% surcharge on bonuses. Self-service fees are shown on the platform when the order is submitted.

Coverage. LXT cites image and video collection in 150+ countries and 1,000+ locales with 10M+ contributors; clickworker's homepage says its workforce is in 136 countries. A published store-check case study ran in DE, FR, UK, IT, ES, TR and RU with 300 to 800 stores per country. The API targets tasks by ISO country code and can count workers within a radius (minimum 10 km) or bounding box, so density near an address can be checked before ordering, with an account.

Timing. clickworker store-check page: 'Fast turnaround – Results often within hours, not days.' No turnaround is published for LXT image or video datasets, which start with a briefing and a pilot.

Licence. clickworker's North American self-service terms (LXT AI Inc., effective 30 March 2026, §8) give the client, upon full payment, 'a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual license to use task results for its internal business purposes'; the same §8 bars reselling or sublicensing the Platform itself; the terms do not mention AI training, resale of results, or LXT using client data for its own models. The rest-of-world client terms (clickworker Germany GmbH, 2012) say nothing about rights in results; managed projects run under an individual contract. Workers grant clickworker unlimited rights of use in what they produce (worker GTC §7). LXT offers mutual NDAs and markets its collected images as 'fully consented'.
