Person · Not stated
Still open: Captured by Capella's satellites, not individual people
- 2. Captured locallyNot stated
Camera · Not stated
Still open: Not a signed capture, so none (STANDARD §3). What is stated: Collects come from Capella's own SAR satellites; requests can constrain orbital plane and geometry. Sensor identity and parameters are operator-asserted
Place · Claimed. Requests target a GeoJSON point or polygon; products are geolocated
Still open: Geolocation accuracy was not found in the pages read
Needs both: the weaker one counts.
- 3. Genuine deviceNot stated
App · Not stated
Still open: No public signing or checksum scheme for delivered files was found; downloads are signed (time-limited) storage URLs, which authenticate access, not content. Capella is not on the C2PA conforming products list.

Notes
About. Operator of a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite constellation that images through cloud and at night. Its Console and REST API let you task a new point or area capture in a UTC window, choose a collection tier (urgent, priority, standard, flexible), set up repeat tasking down to a 24-hour cycle, review a cost estimate before approving, track status, and download the delivered collect. Capella advertises 0.25 m resolution and 93% of collects delivered in under 3 hours. Access is by signed order form, invoiced in USD.
Price. from_usd 0 means unknown, not free. No public price list was found. Each tasking request returns a cost estimate (order.summary.total; repeat requests: costPerImageEstimate) for approval. Fees are payable in US dollars, invoiced monthly in arrears and due net 30; payments are non-cancelable and non-refundable; cancelling an accepted order incurs the cancellation fees in Capella's Product Guide.
Coverage. Homepage: '24/7 global coverage'. SAR works through cloud and at night. Acceptance depends on the scheduler: requests can be rejected (e.g. conflicting tasks), expire, or stay 'active' without a guarantee of full collection until 'accepted'. Accounts are not available to persons barred from receiving services under US law.
Timing. Capella homepage: '93% Data Collects Delivered in Under 3 Hours'; total time also depends on the tasking window and scheduler acceptance, and the Standard Terms call any delivery date an estimate.
Licence. Tasked data is licensed, not sold, under Capella's License Agreement (EULA v2.1, May 2026): a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable licence for the customer's Internal Use, including derivatives for Internal Use, plus an express right to 'use Data to train Models that Customer uses to provide services or deliverables to Third Parties' (Models must not contain or enable reconstruction of the raw Data). Selling, distributing, sublicensing or making Data or Derivatives publicly available is prohibited unless authorised; Capella keeps title to the Data and to Derivatives made by or for Capella; the customer owns its Models and its own contributions (Sec. 11). Bulk download or scraping is barred (EULA 9(m); website ToS Sec. 3 and 12). Use across more than one organisation needs Capella Legal. Console/API evaluation accounts are internal, non-commercial only. U.S. Government licences come via the NRO. Separate open-data collections are CC BY 4.0 / CC BY 2.0 (context only).
